Flash Steam Applications

In the steam system, the condensate water collected at high pressure by the condensate system turns into steam when it is opened to atmospheric pressure in the condensate tank. This is called flash steam.

Normally, the flash steam is discharged into the atmosphere from the condensate tank with a line called a vent. With the flash steam heat recovery system, the flash steam in the condensate tank is collected and its heat is recovered.

The use of flash steam by separating it from the condensate means that the same amount of steam is produced incompletely in the boiler. In other words, one of the methods of increasing energy efficiency in company where steam is used is the use of a flash steam heat recovery system. It is possible to save between 4% and 6% with flash steam heat recovery systems.
